The Academy of Coastal Carolina prides itself in its low student-teacher ratios and extensive involvement within the community. We believe that low distractions and a safe Christian environment are the keys to effective learning and teaching, and that structure and rules are essential to keeping it that way. Students also participate daily in Chapel time for all grades.
Every teacher at The Academy is highly qualified in their subject or grade area. We believe that this is an essential requirement for a private or public school, and that it is the only way to ensure proper preparation for other school or learning environments that students may enter following The Academy. However, we do not "teach to the test" - while students are required to take some form of standardized testing at the end of the school year, this is not our top priority. We would rather see students learn and grow within their subject and grade level than have them memorize facts and methods for a single decision test. Foreign languages are also a priority at The Academy - currently all of our students are enrolled in a Spanish program, and we hope to expand into further options in the future.
