Like many private schools, The Academy of Coastal Carolina has had its start between the walls of very generous supporters in the community. The plans for a more permanent home have been in the works since the very first day of class. Parents have come together as a unit to form a Building Committee and land has been donated for the final location of The Academy. In the future, The Academy hopes to create a space large enough to house grades Kindergarten through 12th (currently Kindergarten through 9th) along with a full range of sports and extracurricular activities.
After less than a half a year being housed in the Shallotte and Southport locations of The Bright Spot Educational Enrichment Center, The Academy quickly outgrew its two homes and combined all students at Calvary Baptist Church of Shallotte, where it is currently located. Classes will take place at Calvary until plans for a more permanent home begin to materialize.
