Academic Programs

Early Childhood Education * Elementary Education * Intermediate Education

Early Childhood Education
The Academy of Coastal Carolina offers an Early Education program for three and four year old children that combines excitement and discovery with a strong Biblically integrated plan. The curriculum includes pre-writing and pre-reading activities as well as math skills with the goal of having each child fully prepared to enter kindergarten. In this readiness setting, students are engaged in hands-on activities related to a variety of themes throughout the year.

Elementary Education
Education for students in grades K-2 sets the foundation for lifelong learning.  In classical education, these first years of
schooling are called the grammar stage.  Just as grammar is the foundation for language, the building blocks of learning are reading, phonics, spelling and grammar rules, writing, mathematics and vocabulary.  The Academy of Coastal Carolina utilizes these foundation classes with  the goal of having each child ready for middle school and beyond.

Intermediate Education
Core teachers will customize and design a challenging and exciting curriculum that will meet the unique and diverse learning styles in grades 3-8. Our goal is to spark student’s interests and strengths in all academic and extra-curricular activities.  With small classes as well as individualized and differentiated instruction, students will be able to work at a pace that best fits their personal needs.

Grades 3, 4 and 5 focus on the foundations of education; reading, phonics, spelling and grammar rules, vocabulary, mathematics and science and social studies. The Academy utilizes these foundation classes with the goal of having each child ready for middle school and beyond.

The middle school program helps students make the transition from childhood to maturity in grades 6,7 and 8.  Because students have begun to think more analytically and are asking, "Why?" more often, the curriculum focuses on logic, encouraging students to pay attention to cause and effect and to the relationships between different areas of knowledge.  Students are taught to think critically in all subject areas in order to draw right and Godly conclusions from that knowledge.  Our goal is to prepare our middle school students for high school and beyond
